MANILA, Philippines — Former Vice President Jejomar Binay and his son, former Makati mayor Jejomar Erwin, have been acquitted by the Sandiganbayan in relation to the P2.2 billion Makati Carpark building.

In a decision promulgated by the anti-graft court's Third division on Friday, the Binays, alongside 22 others accused, including former city officials and private individuals, were aquitted of graft, malversation of public funds, and falsification of public documents in relation to the building that was constructed from 2007 to 2013.
In its decision, the court said that the Ombudsman's prosecutors did not prove beyond reasonable doubt the charges against the accused.
